We have some emails out to Alan Hopper from DKP who has confirmed that Cory was meeting last with with THE DON in Florida.
Nothing else since, so if we hear anything, you guys will be the first to know.

I heard Steve Smith, Deandre and His trainer were on 1120 the other night! Did anyone get a chance to hear it, and what was discussed!

I heard they think Deandre will move into the top ten and only have a couple fights next year if he moves that high!

So - they're gonna keep him at a fight every 6 months? That sounds like a good plan to me...

I think we all saw how some time off affected BUll. He was a totally different fighter between his last 2 fights. I would really like to see him fight someone like Zab Judah...just to get a little more experience. I have faith, but the defense still needs a little work. He got hit a little in the Powell fight, and his chin is still not something I am 100% sold on. His power is tremendous, and his ring presence is all there.

Spinks fighting Latimore makes no sense for Cory: If he wins, it does nothing for his career. If he loses, he's all but done. And the payday would be lame. Cory may have a fan-UNfriendly style, but he's a former world champ who isn't yet going to accept being a name on a rising contender's ledger.

You are absolutely right. I still think that Powell will want a rematch before Latimore does anything else.

my thoughts:

Cory just lost to Verno Phillips. That hurt

Also i believe Sechew Powell failed a drug test after his fight, That was bad for him and probably hurt his chances of contending soon!

Spinks vs Latimore is possible if the money is right!

Cory wont turn down $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Its only if Steve is willing to put his money where his mouth is!

Plus Kirkland is more Dangerous than Cory!

Here is the deal, one more big fight from Bull (victory), and he is looking at becoming a mandatory challenger for one of the belts.

Can you see him fighting Zab Judah or Joshua Clottey? How about a plump Paulie Malinaggi or Edner Cherry?

I think it is possible for Bull to get a fight with a blown up welter...considering the competition in that division...even without Floyd.

I am still in favor of Bull having one more fight against a top competitor before bringing the fight home.

I know Cory is a former champ, but his the respect for him has never really been there...he wants KO's not to be KO'd. I think he will avoid a fight with a hungy kid like Bull until it is time to retire.

My take is this. Cory fights Deandre in St Louis because,1 He can make a fare amount of money doing it. 2 He can train here cutting his expenses. 3 He will have a hard time fighting a big name fighter because Cory can make you look real bad by slippin and runnin. 4 He can run from Deandre all night and hope Bull doesn't catch him with a shot.. 5 Don King would be involved and possibly Devon, either on the undercard or the Main event if they can get another title shot. Which increases Cory's exposure. 6 Pride baby...it shouldn't matter but it does. New kid coming up...Cory would love to show the Lou that he IS the bull in this town. Deandre's reasons for fighting Cory. 1 He can also make a fare amount of money doing it. 2 If Bull wins, it vaults him even further. 3 Bull should not have to worry about getting ko'ed as if he was fighting a power guy. 4 Bull Gets national exposure which every fighter needs.
I might be dreaming but it makes sense to me and I would love to see these guys square up.

I like the idea of them fighting in STL. I just would like to see Bull fight another name guy before stepping in with Cory. A decision loss is still a loss - and a setback for Bull.

The fight will take place here in St Louis in mid to late February or early March. It will be a Showbox show.
It will be a teriffic night for boxing and once again put St Louis on a national stage. We all need to come out
and support the fight and let the nation know we can have big time boxing here.
The thing that attracts big fights is the availability of a good venue, accomodations and ticket sales. We have
the first two; and fan support should be there too. If we continue to sell out events like we did when Jab Judah
was here then the promoters will continue to bring fights to St louis.
Of course as fans we'd like to see exciting fights instead of mismatches. However I promise you; with a great
outing from the fans more big fights will come to St Louis.
We have a former Undisputed World Champion in Cory Spinks here in St Louis; Deadre Lattimore a young up
and coming lion; Devon Alexander, Leon Bobo, Kevin Engle, Danny Williams and several other talented fighters
who will give St Louis some players in the fight game. And at some time could be fighting for titles in matches
than can happen here in St Louis. Let's get behind our guys and show the support the way the brits gets behind
Ricky Hatton.

Kojak - Thanks, good reasoning - and if it goes off, I will be one of the happier people in the city.

For all of the hype Bull has gotten, it will be interesting to see how he comes into this next fight. Will he be more brazen, or will he try to
jab with Cory? He is going to have to deveolp some slickness to keep up - Cory is still not an old fighter...

I would really like to see Prentice Brewer on the Card - seems like he will be one of the better pick ups from RT -
But, what are the odds that the undercards are all DKP guys? OR Will DKP put some of his prospects in with other guys who are undefeated?
If the fight takes place in May or June, I would love to see Ryan Coyne fight Francisco Palacios - who is someone I think Ryan can beat, and has a really good record.
