Obviously Bradley and Campbell are at or near the top of the list...

Ahmir Khan

Paulie vs Alexander seems like a decent match up. I imagine that Paulie wont lose much ranking after his performance the other night so he will definitely be in the title picture still. And supposedly thats what Devon wants. However if for some reason Victor Ortiz returns to the ring, I would be more in favor of that.....

Ortiz is an interesting choice Mick, and after what he did against Maidana - logical on your part.

Malinaggi would be an interesting boxer/boxer matchup, but somehow I think it would be a boring fight - even for Paulie. I also don't think that Paulie is looking to take a pay cut to fight Devon. Yes, Devon is the title holder, but Paulie has fough MUCH bigger names at this point...and like Bradley - he's not in the mood to give away a fight and money to take on a guy who could beat him. Paulie is a worthy opponent.

How about Juan Urango? He is a brawler who gets into exciting fights - he's got a great record, is coming off of a loss to Berto and a win to lesser known Randall Bailey.

Urango makes mistakes that Dev could easily exploit.

I still think Khan is the best fight out there. Kahn has a HUGE following in England and Dev just battered a former British champ, so he's known over there.
If you want to talk amatuer pedigrees, Amir has the same type of resume that Devon has...and there is that suspect chin thing Wink

Somehow, when it's all said and done, the money fight is against Zab Judah locally...and we'll probably see that one regardless of what SUPER does against Antonio Diaz - sans Zab being turded beyond belief and retiring.

Don King make this fight happen!!!! Alexander is the top fighter in St. Louis and a fast emerging star. When it comes to Zab Judah, St. Louis loves, loves to hate, whatever you want to call it the fight fans in this town want to see him. This would be a fantastic fight for Devon Alexander to make the first defense of his titlte bounce

Another element is that The Bradley/Campbell fight was changed to a "No Contest" the other day. I believe they are goin to rwmatch that fight this winter....

Personally - I don't want to see it. Bradley was kicking Nates butt in the first one anyway. Of course, it will happen because money talks in boxing.

Khan is out:

06
Oct
2009 Khan vs Salita set for Dec 5

Amir Khan will make the first defence of his world title against Dmitriy Salita at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Saturday 5th December promoter Frank Warren confirmed today. Salita, the mandatory challenger for Khan’s title, is an observant Jew and strictly follows Jewish law so if he fights on a Saturday then it must begin after sundown, the end of the sabbath. He famously said, “Anyone who wants a good whuppin’ from me is just going to have to wait until sundown.”

This will be Khan’s first fight in Newcastle and Warren has taken his biggest stars to the city in the past including Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Naseem Hamed and Ricky Hatton. Warren said, “For Amir’s first defense this is a very tough fight for him and he’s taking on a fighter that the American media are really building up at the moment.

“Salita’s got a great record, he’s unbeaten and carries a big punch and of course he will pose a threat to Amir, but Amir’s a world class fighter and has to deal with these challengers. I’ve promoted a lot of shows in Newcastle with all the big names like Naz, Calzaghe, Hatton and Benn and I’m delighted to bring Amir to the city for the first time. The public there are big sports fans and love the big events and it’s great to bring them a fight like Khan v Salita.”

Press conference and ticket purchase details will be announced shortly.
